I apologize for letting this blog go fallow, since it's gotten so many pageviews.

I keep a daily activity report for the Audio Visual Services Team at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where we maintain over 400 audio-visual enabled classrooms, conference rooms and other collaborative spaces.

I will publish my Daily Report from this day forward, and ask for management's buy-in after today's post.

To wit:

Some students and I assisted the AVS Technical Team Lead in hanging two new screens in KACB 2443.

Issue 194386: Event Support: 8/10 - 13/2014: 0800 - 1700: Clough 152: Microelectronics Research Ctr.
 I emailed the client to let her know the error that Footprints was returning when she tried to annotate the ticket (it looked like her signature was too large, probably due to a graphic she'd put in it). I then thanked her for confirming her acceptance of the microphone set up that I proposed, and explained that one or more of the AVS Team will meet her in Clough 152 the morning of the 10th to assist her as needed to ensure her event kicks off successfully.

Issue 194767: RMA: Panasonic: Sanyo XTC50: The unit was picked up from OIT RM last week and a student and I placed it into 130F as a good spare yesterday. I moved it in Remedy to its current location and assigned it to one of the AVS Technical Team Leads.

Issue 197023: Wireless Microphone Request: Clough 152: the client agreed to meet in the lobby of the CRC, so I sent Kurt to meet him, as I was helping the AVS Technical Team Lead hang screens in KACB 2443.

Issue 197404: OTHER: client is asking about room's technology due to our website listing room's status as "future development": Skiles 171: I emailed the client to tell her that I'll discuss this issue with the AVS Technical Leads and let her know what I find out.

Issue ######:

I reviewed some documents for the AVS Team Manager and the Application Support Lead.

Ongoing:

Ping all of the clients who have mics out on permanent loan so that I can note the mics' OIT#'s, so as to have a better accounting of their location.

Clients pinged: MSE Admin in MSE 2201; still to be pinged: Skiles Admins; D.M.Smith Admin; Whitaker Admin; Howey Professor;

Documentation placeholder: At (confrere's) request, I updated file (filename).pdf to T-Square, into ATS Documents\Procedures\(subfolder), then annotated the Classroom Support Documentation Change-Log accordingly.
